Meet The Team
Sheila Brown,
Owner & Midwife CPM LPM

Sheila has been married for 29 years and has 2 daughters and one son in law. (Hopefully there will be grand babies soon!) She has always been a birth junkie, enjoying all things related to birth. Her first encounter with supporting someone in labor came when she was blessed to be the doula for a friend that desired hospital birth but with no pain medication. From the moment of seeing that child born, she was fascinated and wanted to learn more. She began as a doula but quickly transitioned into student midwife training. She trained under 3 different Midwives and developed her own personal style of care. She cultivates a supportive community at the Birth Center, where families gather for pregnancy, birth, postpartum and beyond. Sheila believes in informed consent for your care, and involves you in all of the decision making for your pregnancy and birth. She believes that care should include attention to mind, body, spirit and soul. Truly listening and being attentive to the needs of her clients is a hallmark of her care for each family she serves.
Kacey Jones,
Licensed Midwife (LM) and Certified Professional Midwife (CPM)

Hi Blessed Joy Family! I’m Kacey, I have a beautiful daughter who is my whole world, love coffee, and dream of having a homestead one day!
Here’s a bit about my story.

From the time I was just 3 years old, I knew birth would be a part of my life’s calling. I still remember the moment I saw my brother being born in the hospital—after that, I told my mom, “I want to be the lady behind the glass (of the nursery).” Even as a child, there was something deep within me that longed to be present in those sacred spaces where life begins.

Once out of high-school, I began taking college prerequisites with the goal of becoming a labor and delivery nurse. I thought nursing school was the next step, but something didn’t feel quite right. I couldn’t explain it then, but I knew I wasn’t fully walking in what God had planned for me.

Then, in August 2019, the Lord revealed the path I had been waiting for. I went to a birth center to visit a friend—an ordinary day that turned into a defining moment. As soon as I walked through the doors, something stirred so deeply in my spirit that I said aloud, “I don’t know what this is, but this is what I want to do.” His timing, as always, was perfect.

In January 2020, I began studying at ATM, and by February 2022, I started my preceptorship with Sheila—an incredible season of learning, growth, and witnessing God’s hand in the lives of so many families. I had my daughter in November 2022 with Sheila! In 2023, I began the PEP (Portfolio Evaluation Process) route, continuing to follow the path the Lord had so clearly set before me.
Through every birth, every challenge, and every moment of joy, I have felt the Lord’s grace carrying me forward. His faithfulness has sustained me through long nights, tough lessons, and sacred miracles. And now, I am humbled and grateful to serve as a Licensed Midwife (LM) and Certified Professional Midwife (CPM).

This journey has never been mine alone—it has been His work, His timing, and His calling on my life. I am honored to walk with families through the divine experience of birth, Midwifery, to me, is more than a profession—it’s a deep seeded calling to serve with compassion, truth, and respect for every individual’s autonomy. I believe wholeheartedly that care should be built on a foundation of true informed consent, transparent knowledge-sharing, and trust. My role is not to direct or dictate, but to walk alongside each client—empowering them with the information and support they need to confidently take the lead in their own care. This is their story, their body, and their birth—and I am here to honor that.
